Analysis of the poem

Start by opening the “How to Read a Poem” link in Contents – Week 8. Read through it carefully. It will be useful for the rest of the assignment and for next week’s discussions.

1. Carefully annotate all of the poems in the pdf on Brightspace (Contents – Week 8). Mark anything you find interesting, striking, strange, etc. Take not of any connections you can between the poems and the themes and issues that have come up in class thus far. Remember to bring your notes next time the class meets.

2. Choose one poem from the collection that especially draws your attention and write a couple paragraphs of analysis about it, highlighting what it is that you find important.
