Describe what a n SBAR is, then create an SBAR briefing using the information you receive during morning handoff report:
Mr. Jones was in an auto accident 3 days ago. He has significant pain and has a lower leg fracture of both bones. He needed surgery to repair the bones after he was seen in the emergency department. His vital signs need to be assessed every hour because he is on morphine 2 mg IV for pain. He is in room 25. His circulation, motion, and sensation (CMS) checks have been good. His leg is elevated. His pain is now a 2 of 10 after receiving morphine 30 minutes ago. He can start on oral pain meds when he is no longer having nausea and is taking fluids well.
