Chapter 6 – Learning, Cognition, Memory Pages 193-238

Everyone please read Learning Outcomes and What Have You Learned? Also then please read page 194-begin with paragraph that opens with FOR OUR DISCUSSION and then onto page 195, the Compare/Contrast Table.

  • You are assigned the following sections to read.6.3 page 207-215) After reading your section, go back to the corresponding section in the What Have You Learned summary on pages 237-238 and read again. Then respond by reflecting on your own intellect, your memory, your way of learning in relation to the question that aligns with your section number…this is all about you understanding how your own intellect and memory work to help you learn.
  • Review the Theory in Practice Guidelines sheet we went over in class on Feb 27th just to be aware as of yet…will revisit but we are using scaffolding and a step by step approach so do not begin forming slides yet…just start to do some very cryptic research on your topic and when doing so, be thinking about the grade level you want to target.Also be thinking about the 3 MI you identified as your most dominant ones for those are the ones you will target within the 3 lessons you will develop within this project. In doing this initial research you should be learning about yourself and perhaps even how your own culture has influenced your choice or your thinking on the topic you chose or how you might plan to deliver it to your students.Will be asking you to share some things next week that you find in your initial research. A sample of Slide 1 will be shown and we will go over it thoroughly.
